A contract-to-hire opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in sterile compounding within a home infusion environment. This role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, over a 13-week assignment in Tulsa, OK.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accepting and dispensing prescription medications with accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitoring patient medication adherence and detecting patterns of overuse, ensuring all dispensing complies with legal requirements.
  • Verifying the appropriateness of prescribed medications for each patient.
  • Maintaining confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Providing patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answering questions.
  • Offering guidance on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding storage, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
  • Delivering patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management education.
  • Educating patients on proper use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compounding sterile medications following strict procedural standards.
  • Supervising pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Managing pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
  • Collaborating closely with healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
  • Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Oklahoma pharmacy license in good standing.
  • Experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy settings.
  • Proven sterile compounding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and support pharmacy staff.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
