An infusion pharmacist position is available for a maternity leave coverage at a specialty infusion pharmacy located approximately 20 minutes north of downtown Hartford, CT. This clinical pharmacist role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant, and effective pharmacy operations within specialty pharmacy services.

Schedule & Duration:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Contract length: 4 weeks (March 13 – April 13), with potential extension
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, compliance, and appropriateness
  • Monitor specialty drug therapies and provide clinical interventions as needed
  • Offer comprehensive patient counseling on specialty infusion medications
  • Oversee and validate pharmacy technician activities and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, HIPAA, ACHC, URAC, and OSHA
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Intake, Reimbursement, Quality, Nursing, and Pharmacy
  • Support end-to-end prescription fulfillment, referral coordination, and patient onboarding
  • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted Connecticut Pharmacist license (required, must have license in hand)
  • Strong knowledge of specialty therapies and patient qualification processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred: 3+ years in Specialty, Infusion, Hospital, Retail, or Mail-Order Pharmacy
  • Experience working with clinical teams and pharmacy technicians
  • Familiarity with specialty payer contracts and pharmacy operations
  • Experience with CareTend system preferred
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification a plus
