This opportunity is ideal for a licensed California pharmacist eager to advance their career in a supportive retail setting with a path to permanent placement. The role involves a 12-week contract to hire engagement, starting as soon as possible, offering a Monday through Friday schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with no weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal guidelines and patient safety.
  • Monitor patient medication use and compliance, identifying any potential misuse or over-usage.
  • Maintain confidential and thorough patient records, managing pharmacy files with precision.
  • Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer inquiries.
  • Educate patients on medical device usage, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Compound and prepare sterile medications following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Identify drug-related issues and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers.
  • Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in California.
  • Retail pharmacy experience preferred; candidates with retail pharmacy background will be trained and supported.
  • Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient counseling and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance.
