A leadership opportunity is available for a Pharmacist in Charge at a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) facility. This role demands a reliable, detail-oriented professional to oversee pharmacy operations in a setting with roughly 600 prescriptions dispensed daily. Emphasis on attendance and dependability is paramount, as the facility has experienced challenges with staff reliability. LTC experience and strong management skills are highly preferred.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, Day Shift
  • Evening and weekend coverage on an as-needed basis
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply fully with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage daily pharmacy functions, including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care delivery.
  • Maintain precise records for all pharmacy transactions, inventory, and controlled substances.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Lead and support pharmacy staff by providing guidance, performance evaluations, and training.
  • Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal medication stock levels while reducing waste.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and payers to resolve medication-related issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and timely solutions.
  • Stay informed on industry developments and regulatory updates, adjusting practices to maintain compliance.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to identify and mitigate safety or compliance concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with infection control protocols.
  • Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active and clear Kentucky Pharmacist license required.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Long-Term Care pharmacy practice.
  • Recent experience in pharmacy management, preferably within LTC settings.
  • Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus; training available.
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong attendance record is essential.
