This opportunity is for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to support a reputable healthcare facility in Novi, MI, on a contract basis through 9/4/26. The role requires a strong background in sterile compounding within pharmacy settings, ensuring the highest standards of medication preparation and safety. The position offers a weekday day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, typically from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or similar hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sterile compounding of IV medications strictly following USP and USP guidelines.
  • Prepare patient-specific sterile products including IV admixtures, antibiotics, hydration solutions, and TPNs.
  • Work within ISO-classified cleanroom environments utilizing aseptic technique and proper garbing procedures.
  • Accurately measure, mix, and compound medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Label compounded sterile preparations (CSPs) ensuring accuracy for each patient-specific order.
  • Operate laminar airflow workstations (LAFW) and isolators to maintain sterility.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of compounding activities, including lot numbers and expiration dates.
  • Assist with inventory management of sterile supplies, IV components, and hazardous drug materials.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and sanitation of cleanroom and equipment.
  • Support medication batching and preparation for daily home infusion deliveries.
  • Ensure timely preparation to meet strict delivery and patient administration schedules.
  • Adhere to safety, compliance, and quality assurance protocols per pharmacy regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and internal pharmacy staff about order status and preparation needs.
  • Assist with proper cold-chain handling and storage of temperature-sensitive medications.
  • Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of recent sterile compounding experience.
  • Active and clear Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Clear background check.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, day shift, approximately 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
