A critical illness recovery hospital seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy, overseeing all aspects of pharmacy services within a world-class inpatient post-ICU care setting. This role offers an opportunity to impact patient outcomes in a hospital dedicated to extended healing and recovery for chronic and critically ill patients. The facility operates under The Joint Commission, CMS, and other rigorous regulatory standards, ensuring high-quality care delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial functions of the hospital pharmacy
  • Ensure accurate preparation and dispensing of drugs and chemicals throughout pharmacy operations
  • Maintain full compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission and CMS
  • Administer the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and participate in quality assurance and drug utilization programs
  • Develop and implement employee training and education initiatives
  • Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring and clinical program development, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing, Pain Management, and Nutritional Support Services
  • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement
  • Provide patient and family education and counseling
  • Report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with clinical leadership
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last five years
  • BLS certification if required by the state
  • Fulfillment of all educational requirements for Oklahoma licensure
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • PharmD or BS Pharm with an advanced degree or hospital residency
  • At least one year of pharmacy management or leadership experience
  • Board Certification and completion of pharmacy residency strongly preferred
  • Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance standards
  • Comfortable working collaboratively at the executive level
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in hospital pharmacy settings
  • Board Certified pharmacist and PharmD holders are highly desirable
