A pharmacy professional is needed for a contract role in Milwaukee, WI, starting August 17th for approximately nine weeks. This position involves working the 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM with rotating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure the legal supply and suitability of prescribed medicines.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files precisely.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer their questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following correct procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain appropriate pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory.
  • Identify patient drug-related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Wisconsin pharmacist license in-hand.
  • Retail pharmacy experience is welcomed; training will be provided to qualified candidates.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills.
