A position is available for a Staff Pharmacist in the Minneapolis area on an 8-week contract basis, starting as soon as possible. The role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts between 9:30 AM and 8:30 PM, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage.
  • Ensure all medicines dispensed comply with legal regulations.
  • Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for patients.
  • Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer related questions.
  • Offer consultation on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including storage, dosage, and potential drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for both external and internal use, and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
  • Identify drug-related issues and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare team members including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and interns.

    • Qualifications:

  • Minnesota pharmacist license must be current and in-hand.
  • Retail pharmacy experience is welcome; candidates new to retail will be considered and trained.
  • PV1 and PV2 documentation are required.
