A pharmacy role is available at a warehouse facility in Elgin, IL, for a contract duration of six months. This position requires a licenced pharmacist to oversee critical aspects of medication management, including inventory control and distribution, to ensure medications are safely stored and efficiently delivered.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty items.
  • Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies while minimizing waste and expired products.
  • Ensure storage conditions comply with USP standards and federal/state regulations.
  • Verify medication orders prior to preparation and shipment.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians involved in inventory, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
  • Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to maintain availability of medications and supplies.
  • Review controlled substance inventories and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to facilitate timely patient medication delivery.
  • Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems for tracking medications and supplies.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active and clear Illinois Pharmacist License.
  • Working knowledge of IV medications.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and pharmacy inventory practices.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate technician activities.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems.
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
