Retail Pharmacist - Lufkin, Texas
RPh on the Go is seeking a licensed Retail Pharmacist to provide maternity leave coverage from December 2026 through February 2027. This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist with recent retail experience who enjoys patient interaction, prescription verification, and providing excellent customer service.
Schedule:
The pharmacy is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There are two available shifts, with flexibility to accommodate preferred hours, including shorter shifts.
First shift: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with options to work 8:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–4:00 PM.
Second shift: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with options to work 9:00 AM–5:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Location: Lufkin Texas
Assignment: December 2026 – February 2027
Schedule: Monday–Friday, based on store hours and shift preference
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Responsibilities
Verify prescriptions issued by physicians and other authorized prescribers.
Provide exceptional customer service and patient care.
Counsel patients on medications, drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper storage.
Answer pharmacist-related phone calls and respond to patient and prescriber questions.
Retrieve and process voicemail messages and prescription requests.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Follow quality assurance procedures and maintain controlled substance security.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
Address customer concerns and resolve conflicts professionally.
Notify leadership of potential regulatory or compliance violations.
Please note: This location does not provide vaccinations or medication therapy management (MTM) services.
Requirements
Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing.
At least 1 year of recent retail pharmacy experience.
Strong prescription verification and patient counseling skills.
Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and maintain regulatory compliance.
