Pharmacy Technician Sterile Compounding- Syracuse NY
RPh on the Go is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician for a direct-hire opportunity with a growing pharmacy team in New York. This role is ideal for a technician with sterile compounding experience who is passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a home infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy setting.
Responsibilities
Support pharmacists in coordinating daily pharmacy operations to ensure efficient, safe, and timely pharmacy services.
Process prescriptions, perform order entry, and maintain accurate documentation under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Prepare and compound sterile medications in accordance with USP standards, accreditation requirements, state and federal regulations, and company policies.
Maintain clean room environments, pharmacy equipment, and infusion devices to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Perform and document quality assurance and quality control activities.
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring medications and supplies.
Coordinate medication refills, deliveries, and equipment to ensure continuity of patient care.
Maintain accurate patient, pharmacy, and operational records within electronic systems.
Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, referral sources, and internal teams while providing outstanding customer service.
Assist with reimbursement processes, authorizations, pharmacy documentation, and records management.
Generate operational and quality reports while participating in continuous performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Active New York Pharmacy Technician License
PTCB Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
Completion of Sterile Compounding Training
Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug terminology, aseptic technique, and medication preparation
Knowledge of USP <797> and applicable sterile compounding standards
Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience preferred
Home infusion, hospital, sterile compounding, or specialty pharmacy experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
