A veterinary compounding pharmacy is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician with expertise in non-sterile and some sterile compounding to support their high-volume production environment. This role focuses on preparing custom veterinary medications, packaging and labeling prescriptions, and supporting pharmacists to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include preparing and compounding veterinary prescriptions primarily using non-sterile methods, packaging and labeling orders for shipment, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of compounding equipment per SOPs, assisting pharmacists with workflow demands, and ensuring rigorous adherence to quality assurance protocols. Accurate documentation and inventory management are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

This pharmacy fills over 200 prescriptions daily and employs multiple pharmacists and technicians. The technician will engage with software tools such as PK Software and QuickBooks Online, with a transition to Pharmetica scheduled in the near future. The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional flexibility related to production needs.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Pharmacy Technician certification or registration meeting state requirements
  • Proven experience in compounding pharmacies, especially with non-sterile compounding
  • Sterile compounding experience is preferred
  • PTCB certification is a plus but not mandatory
  • Veterinary or animal compounding background is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong adherence to SOPs
  • Ability to perform reliably in a high-volume production environment
  • Dependable, self-motivated, quick learner with a strong work ethic
  • Team player committed to maintaining quality standards
