Support a vital community health setting as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail/outpatient environment at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This contract-to-hire role is based in Aurora, CO, offering a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with hours from approximately 7:45am-8:00am to 5:30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break.

Responsibilities include accurate entry of prescription and patient demographic information into the pharmacy system, preparing and labeling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, and processing insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B programs. You'll assist patients with prescription pick-up, refills, transfers, and answer medication questions while referring clinical inquiries to pharmacists. Additional duties involve managing payments with proper cash-handling procedures, ordering medications, receiving shipments, maintaining inventory, and removing expired stock to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

This position also involves handling clinic medication and vaccine orders, maintaining precise documentation in line with HIPAA confidentiality standards, and collaborating with healthcare providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to deliver coordinated, compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including underserved and uninsured individuals.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience strongly preferred
  • Active, clear Colorado pharmacy technician license
  • Certification through PTCB or NHA
  • Familiarity with EPIC Willow software is preferred; training available (1-2 days) if needed
  • Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 7:45am and 8:00am
  • End time approximately 5:30pm
  • 1-hour lunch (12:00pm to 1:00pm)
