This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned pharmacy professional with a strong background in inpatient settings and pharmacy management. The role requires hands-on leadership as both the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an acute care facility. You will lead a focused team through key regulatory compliance and operational tasks, ensuring high standards of care and efficiency.

Location: Pahokee, FL
Position Type: Contract (starting 8/31, coverage through early September until permanent hire)
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
  • No weekend coverage required
  • Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in pharmacy management
  • Licensed Florida Pharmacist and Consultant Pharmacist
  • Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations, IV admixtures, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards
  • Experience with CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred, with on-the-job training available
  • Familiarity with sterile compounding practices and oversight
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmacy department leadership and manage daily operations
  • Lead TJC preparedness activities and maintain regulatory compliance
  • Oversee sterile compounding primarily performed by technicians
  • Collaborate on Clinical Pharmacy Agreements (CPA) within CPS system
  • Manage and support a staff that includes 3 pharmacy technicians and 5 pharmacists (1 full-time, 4 PRN)
  • Address staffing challenges and ensure smooth workflow within limited weekday coverage
