This leadership role calls for an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge to oversee the launch and management of a new specialty pharmacy in Spring, TX, supporting specialty care clinics to optimize patient outcomes. The position is a direct hire with a Monday through Friday schedule (hours to be determined) and an ASAP start.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge responsible for pharmacy licensure, controlled substance oversight, and regulatory compliance with state and federal laws, including Board of Pharmacy and DEA standards
  • Lead build-out and opening operations, including insurance contract onboarding, accreditation processes, and regulatory inspections
  • Manage daily pharmacy operations ensuring accurate dispensing, patient safety, and adherence to clinical protocols
  • Develop and enforce policies for prescription processing, drug storage, and security
  • Supervise and train pharmacists, technicians, and support staff while maintaining quality and education compliance
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinic staff to optimize medication access, formulary use, and coordinated patient care
  • Investigate and document medication incidents promoting continuous quality improvement
  • Oversee inventory management including procurement, temperature-sensitive medications, and recalls
  • Participate in strategic planning to support pharmacy growth, service expansion, and value-based care initiatives
  • Provide clinical expertise on patient counseling, therapeutic substitution, and prior authorization reviews
  • Qualifications:

  • Prior Pharmacist-in-Charge or Pharmacy Manager experience in an outpatient/retail specialty pharmacy setting (inpatient experience not applicable)
  • Licensed Pharmacist with a PharmD or equivalent advanced degree, eligible to serve as PIC in Texas with an active, unrestricted license in good standing
  • Strong knowledge of specialty medications and pharmacy software systems; familiarity with EMR and specialty pharmacy technologies is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, professional approach to working with providers and clinic teams
  • Comfortable working onsite in a startup environment with initiative, creativity, and a focus on high-quality patient care
  • This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $135,000 to $150,000, plus performance bonus, equity stake, and unlimited paid time off.
