An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge to lead the launch and daily operations of a growing specialty pharmacy site in Cambridge, MA. This role offers hands-on leadership at a newer facility with a collaborative team, including another pharmacist, to support pharmacy start-up and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards including State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, and ACHC
  • Manage medication therapy and provide patient counseling for specialty disease states
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a strong operational team environment
  • Collaborate with intake, referral, nursing, clinical, reimbursement, and pharmacy operations teams to optimize patient onboarding and prescription fulfillment
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records, assist with quality assurance initiatives, and address incident resolution promptly
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation as part of the operational leadership
  • Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist license required; Connecticut license preferred or willingness to obtain quickly
  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings; retail-only background does not meet requirements
  • Proven management or Pharmacist in Charge experience, particularly in infusion or specialty pharmacy operations
  • Strong familiarity with specialty medication therapies and patient qualification processes
  • Proven supervisory experience with pharmacy technicians
  • Proficiency with pharmacy software systems; CareTend experience is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Weekend on-call rotation required
  • This is a contract-to-hire position starting immediately with an initial duration of 13 weeks and potential extension to 26 weeks. The role requires onsite presence.
