An immediate opportunity is available for an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to support an inpatient behavioral health facility in Columbia, MO. This role requires a proactive professional who can quickly adapt and manage pharmacy operations until a permanent candidate is hired.

Location: Columbia, MO
Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute unpaid meal break)
Start Date: Assignment begins April 29 with a 2-day cross-training period; solo coverage starting May 1

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Manage medication dispensing and inventory control processes
  • Utilize automated systems for repackaging and restocking, including experience with Omnicell preferred
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to support patient care initiatives in a behavioral health setting
  • Prepare reports related to drug inventory and restocking activities
  • Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Missouri (MO License required)
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred
  • Experience with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of loading drugs into automated machines and running restock reports
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to function independently
  • This position is a temporary assignment designed to provide critical pharmacy leadership coverage. Candidates must be available to start immediately and commit to the interim duration until permanent staffing is secured.
