Leading pharmacy services as a strategic enterprise, this Director of Pharmacy role in the Kansas City area offers an opportunity to drive clinical excellence, health equity, and innovation within a community health center setting. Ideal candidates may be local or open to relocation, with an ASAP start, preferably by September. This direct hire position empowers an experienced leader to align pharmacy operations with mission-driven goals that serve underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance, including staffing, workflow, inventory, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and administer the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program ensuring compliance, audit readiness, policy development, and optimization of program resources.
  • Manage pharmacy financial performance including budgeting, capital planning, contract negotiations, and business development initiatives to enhance growth and sustainability.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge maintaining licensure and ensuring medication security and controlled substance accountability.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical teams to integrate pharmacy services with population health efforts and advance patient-centered care.
  • Develop policies, lead quality assurance efforts, and foster a culture focused on continuous improvement and patient safety.
  • Recruit, develop, and supervise pharmacy staff promoting professional growth and accountability.
  • Provide clinical oversight for medication management, formulary decisions, and therapeutic consultation.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal departments, external vendors, and contract partners.
  • Stay current with pharmacy practice standards, 340B regulations, and industry trends.
  • Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 7 years outpatient pharmacy supervisory experience.
  • At least 3 years experience with 340B program, FQHC, HRSA, and AAAHC compliance. Preferred:
  • BCACP certification.
  • 340B University On-Demand and Advanced Operations Certificate (340B ACE).

  • Kansas City, Missouri (local or open to relocation).
  • Compensation starts at $138,250 annually, based on experience.
