This leadership position is responsible for transforming pharmacy services into a strategic enterprise within a community health center setting. The focus is on clinical excellence, health equity, financial sustainability, and innovation across outpatient and clinic pharmacy operations. The Director actively ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, with special oversight of the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all outpatient pharmacy functions, including staffing, workflow, inventory management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Lead the 340B program, ensuring regulatory compliance, audit readiness, inventory controls, and optimization to maximize savings and support the organization’s mission.
  • Manage pharmacy financial performance including budgeting, capital planning, contract pharmacy finance, and revenue optimization.
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, maintaining licensure and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and clinical teams to align pharmacy services with population health goals and advance patient-centered care models.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee recruitment, development, and performance management of pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and engagement.
  • Provide clinical oversight, supporting medication safety, therapy optimization, and formulary management.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance pharmacy operations and 340B program effectiveness.
  • Maintain expertise in emerging pharmacy practices, regulations, and industry trends through ongoing education.
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Minimum seven years of outpatient pharmacy supervisory experience.
  • At least three years of experience with outpatient pharmacy 340B programs within FQHC, HRSA, and AAAHC frameworks.
  • Preferred certifications: BCACP, 340B University On-Demand, 340B Advanced Operations Certificate (ACE).
