A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care pharmacy services. This contract position offers the chance to contribute to patient-centered care while supporting medication management in a dynamic clinical setting. Candidates must hold an active Massachusetts pharmacist license.

Location: Fall River, MA
Schedule: Primarily 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with some shifts from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 6 to 8 weeks
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Provide patient consultations on medication use, side effects, dosing, and possible drug interactions.
  • Educate patients on proper handling and use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related problems and optimize therapeutic outcomes.
  • Participate in additional patient care services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required.
  • Pharmacy experience in long term care preferred, but retail pharmacists will be considered and trained.
  • Strong clinical knowledge with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours within the assigned shift windows.
