This position offers the opportunity to serve as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician on a 13-week contract assignment in San Antonio, TX. The role demands precision, attention to detail, and a strong adherence to regulatory standards, supporting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing compounded sterile medications.

Schedule:

  • One shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Two to three shifts: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately compound, prepare, and process prescriptions in line with established protocols, company policies, and state regulations.
  • Assist pharmacists in medication preparation and dispensing while ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Perform pharmaceutical calculations to confirm proper dosages.
  • Correctly label and package all medications.
  • Identify, document, and report medication-related incidents promptly.
  • Maintain sterile compounding areas by cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Inspect pharmacy equipment regularly and report malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate temperature logs and cleaning records.
  • Contribute to the overall organization and regulatory compliance of the pharmacy site.
  • Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in Texas.
  • Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • IV Certification required.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a pharmacy technician, with sterile compounding expertise.
