A leading provider of home infusion services is seeking a skilled Staff Pharmacist (PRN) to support their clinical pharmacy operations in Cambridge, MA. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to patient care by ensuring the safe preparation and dispensing of IV and infusion medications for individuals with acute and chronic conditions. The position combines hands-on sterile compounding responsibilities with direct patient and team communication in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
  • Perform sterile compounding following USP 797 standards and maintain cleanroom operations
  • Ensure accurate dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain compliant patient and pharmacy records under federal and state regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure quality operations
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience; 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding strongly desired
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking abilities
  • Schedule:

  • Initial EMR system training: 4-8 days
  • Commitment of 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage opportunities available (notably July 6-10 and July 13-17)
  • Typical shifts run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on-site
