A clinical pharmacist opportunity is open for a contract assignment based in New Castle, CO. This role requires expertise in patient medication management within a dynamic healthcare setting, offering an engaging environment while supporting a critical EMR conversion initiative.

Schedule:

  • Rotating day and evening shifts, 40 hours per week
  • Start times at 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekends with shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately in accordance with physician requests and policies
  • Maintain medication stock in patient care areas
  • Monitor and ensure safe, effective, and cost-effective medication therapies
  • Interpret and transcribe medication orders into computerized patient profiles
  • Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements for controlled substances and medication handling
  • Monitor drug therapies for contraindications, interactions, and appropriateness
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and review culture & sensitivity data for antibiotic use
  • Provide clinical consultation, documentation, and education to medical staff and patients
  • Participate in quality improvement, training programs, and serve on the Code Response Team
  • Qualifications

  • Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic medical records system is mandatory
  • Meditech training is a strong plus
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season without exemption
  • This contract assignment supports a facility transitioning from Meditech to Epic EMR, expected to last through 8/15/26, with possible adjustments to accommodate your start date.
