A clinical pharmacist is needed for a contract role in the Los Angeles area, supporting a short-staffed hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. This role offers a dynamic schedule with varied hours—from approximately 16 to 40 hours per week—requiring flexibility to meet fluctuating coverage needs. The assignment starts with an initial 8-week booking and may extend month-to-month.

Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, overseeing pharmacy technician activities, consulting with nurses and physicians, and managing pharmacokinetics to ensure optimal patient care. The pharmacist will work primarily during day and afternoon shifts and may be required to float to nearby sister hospitals within 10-15 miles, providing critical pharmaceutical support across multiple facilities.

This position utilizes Paragon and Allscripts as the order entry systems, along with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, so familiarity with these technologies is essential for efficient workflow.
