Certified Pharmacy Technician (Sterile Compounding)

Location: Lake Butler, FL Area
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Certified Pharmacy Technician to join a growing specialty pharmacy team supporting sterile compounding and infusion therapy services. As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will assist licensed pharmacists with sterile medication preparation, inventory management, quality assurance activities, and prescription fulfillment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sterile compounded medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Follow USP <797> and USP <800> standards for sterile and hazardous compounding.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to cleanroom procedures.
  • Complete pharmacy calculations accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare, label, package, and coordinate shipment of specialty and infusion medications.
  • Maintain compounding records, batch documentation, and quality assurance logs.
  • Support inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and monitoring supplies.
  • Track medication expiration dates and perform inventory rotation activities.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and cleanroom equipment maintenance.
  • Support prescription processing and medication order fulfillment.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, safety standards, and internal procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education, quality initiatives, and team meetings.
  • Deliver outstanding service and support to patients, providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Qualifications

  • Active Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred.
  • Minimum one year of sterile compounding experience in a specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, hospital, oncology, or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Experience utilizing pharmacy management systems and technology platforms.
