We are seeking a reliable and skilled Per Diem Pharmacist to provide medication distribution and patient consultation services while delivering outstanding value to customers through a higher level of pharmacy services located in Greenville, NC. This position is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in retail and/or long-term care settings. The pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient education, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, while delivering superior customer service. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Dispensing:
  2. Accurately prepare and dispense medications as prescribed by physicians and other licensed healthcare providers.
  3. Verify prescriptions for authenticity and ensure that the correct drug, dosage, and quantity are dispensed.
  4. Address patient concerns regarding the proper use of medications, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
  5. Patient Education:
  6. Provide clear, understandable information to patients and caregivers about their medications, including dosing instructions, side effects, and any precautions.
  7. Counsel patients on over-the-counter products, providing guidance on appropriate use and safety.
  8. Customer Service:
  9. Focus on delivering a superior level of customer service with a friendly, professional, and patient-centered approach.
  10. Respond promptly and courteously to patient inquiries and concerns regarding their medications.
  11. Inventory and Stock Management:
  12. Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all medications and supplies.
  13. Ensure proper storage of medications and adherence to safety protocols.
  14. Assist with receiving shipments, conducting regular inventory checks, and removing expired medications.
  15. Regulatory Compliance:
  16. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice, including drug handling, controlled substances, and record-keeping.
  17. Conduct daily checks to ensure the pharmacy environment is safe, clean, and in compliance with health and safety standards.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Active North Carolina Pharmacy License (NC).
  • Experience:
  • Retail or long-term care pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience working with long-term care patients or in a high-volume pharmacy environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug interactions, and best practices for patient safety.
  • Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle patient inquiries with professionalism and compassion.
