RPh on the go is searching for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sterile Compounding:

  • Prepare and dispense sterile medications, including intravenous (IV) solutions, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and chemotherapy agents, following strict aseptic techniques and guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain sterile compounding equipment, such as laminar flow hoods and automated compounding devices.
  • Conduct necessary quality control checks, including verifying ingredient accuracy, sterility, and proper labeling.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and industry standards related to sterile compounding and infection control.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the sterile compounding environment and equipment.
  • Document all compounding activities accurately, including batch records and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of medications.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to address medication-related questions and issues.
  • Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of sterile compounding supplies and medications.
  • Assist in the ordering and storage of medications and supplies, ensuring proper handling and storage conditions.

    Job duties:

  • Assisting pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation and distribution of medications and sterile products for patient administration.
  • Unit dose medications and IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition, floor stock pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, and other defined systems.

    Shift: Days, rotating weekends. 
    Required

  • Inpatient hospital pharmacy technician experience. 
  • Sterile Compounding experience. 
  • TPN experience.
