A specialty pharmacy management group is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support specialty medication accessibility and affordability at a clinic-based specialty pharmacy in Rockville, MD. This direct hire opportunity offers an on-site role focused on enhancing the patient experience through collaboration with specialty care clinics and pharmacy teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete prior authorizations and assist with patient benefit investigations

Source financial assistance programs for specialty medications

Process pharmacy claims and coordinate dispensing and shipping of medications

Serve as a liaison among patients, providers, and pharmacists to address questions and requests

Support administrative tasks including billing and provider correspondence

Contribute to building and refining workflows in a dynamic, start-up environment

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with registration or licensure in Maryland

Prior outpatient or retail specialty pharmacy experience required; infusion experience preferred

Proficiency with specialty pharmacy software and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Therigy) is a plus

Familiarity with specialty medications typically used in autoimmune, endocrinology, and oncology therapeutic areas, with willingness to learn additional areas

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills demonstrated through collaboration with providers and ability to assist with documentation such as appeals letters

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% of the time to various client sites

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, hours to be determined
