Position Overview

As the Director of Pharmacy, you will serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) while actively providing clinical pharmacy services in a personalized healthcare setting. This leadership role integrates strategic pharmacy management with daily operational responsibilities, offering a rewarding and impactful career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations with full regulatory accountability
  • Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Provide direct patient care and medication management services
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technician staff
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, budget, and medication safety protocols
  • Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
  • Respond to on-call responsibilities for after-hours consultation
  • Explore opportunities for remote pharmacy services for night/weekend coverage

    Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • On-call duties as needed
  • Potential for remote pharmacy services implementation for after-hours coverage
  • Low patient census (2-5 patients daily) allows for personalized care

    Required Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of critical access hospital operations
  • Expertise in medication safety and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and assessment skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Understanding of rural healthcare challenges and opportunities
