A specialty pharmacy focused on hormone replacement therapy is seeking a qualified Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) to lead the licensure and operational launch of a new mail-order pharmacy location in Lancaster, PA. This contract-to-hire role is critical in establishing the pharmacy as it transitions patient prescriptions from a partner location to its own fully licensed facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the named PIC on the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy licensure application
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the licensure application, inspection preparation, and approval process
  • Collaborate on facility build-out to ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy requirements
  • Author, review, and implement pharmacy SOPs, policies, and procedures from inception
  • Oversee pharmacy operations post-launch, including dispensing, mail order fulfillment, and quality assurance
  • Manage DEA registration and controlled substance compliance programs following licensure
  • Maintain audit readiness and act as the primary regulatory contact
  • Hire, train, and manage pharmacy support staff
  • Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania pharmacist license with a clean history (no disciplinary actions)
  • Minimum three years of pharmacist experience; prior PIC experience strongly preferred
  • Proven success with pharmacy startup/licensure processes and board inspections
  • Strong knowledge of DEA compliance and controlled substance regulations
  • Experience in mail order, specialty pharmacy, or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to author and implement SOPs from scratch
  • Willingness to obtain pharmacist licenses in additional states as multi-state expansion occurs
