This per diem pharmacist opportunity supports a behavioral health inpatient setting with a focused weekend and paid time off (PTO) coverage schedule. Ideal candidates will be flexible to cover one weekend per month, plus additional weekdays as needed, providing vital support to an environment with no technician coverage on weekends.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Behavioral Health inpatient pharmacy
  • 1.2 full-time equivalent pharmacist staff; weekend coverage without tech support
  • Shifts 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM weekdays; 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM weekends
  • Coverage includes one weekend per month starting 08/22/2026, with additional PTO days for Director of Pharmacy coverage as needed
  • Mandatory orientation August 10-11, followed by training during the week of August 17
  • Coverage dates extending through October and potentially November, including some holidays
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill medication orders and deliver to medication rooms
  • Restock Omnicell units and floor stock throughout the facility
  • Review clinical data to assess medication appropriateness for patients
  • Communicate proactively with physicians regarding treatment plans, drug interactions, and clinical questions
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for nursing staff, physicians, and patients about medication-related inquiries
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Arkansas
  • Hospital inpatient or retail pharmacy experience required
  • Familiarity with Omnicell automation is a plus but training will be provided for order entry using HCS system
  • Strong communication and clinical assessment skills, especially related to patient safety and medication management
