Internal Job Description: Outpatient Pharmacy PSR (Patient Services Representative) with Billing Knowledge

Location: Outpatient Pharmacy
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Duration: 13 weeks (Potential for permanent opportunity for the right candidate)


Position Overview:

We are looking for a Patient Services Representative (PSR) with experience in billing to join our Outpatient Pharmacy team. This role will be key in interacting with patients, assisting with their concerns, and managing essential insurance and billing information. The position has the potential to transition into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients and check them in efficiently. Provide assistance with any questions or concerns as they arise.
  • Insurance and Billing: Collect necessary information, including insurance overview, co-pays, deductibles, and open balances. Investigate any insurance-related issues or problems.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the pharmacy team.

    Qualifications and Critical Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a healthcare position preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of computers and office equipment.
  • Patient-Focused: Ability to work independently and maintain a patient-centric approach at all times.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to quickly adapt to changing demands.
