Part-Time Retail Pharmacy Technician. Cincinnati Ohio

RPh on the go is searching for a Part-Time Retail Pharmacy Technician to work in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hours: Mon - Fri 8:00am - 12:00pm 20/hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prescription Processing:

   • Accurately and efficiently fill prescription orders under the supervision of the pharmacist.
   • Verify prescription information and patient details to ensure accuracy.
   • Label medications correctly and provide necessary information to customers.
   • Prepare and dispense medications, including oral tablets, capsules, liquids, and other forms.

2. Customer Service:

   • Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers, addressing their inquiries and concerns.
   • Offer guidance on over-the-counter medications and health products.
   • Assist with insurance claims and handle prescription refills and transfers.

3. Inventory Management:

   • Monitor and manage medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and checking for expired products.
   • Ensure that medications are stored properly and adhere to safety and quality standards.
   • Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies to the pharmacist.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

   • Adhere to all pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies.
   • Maintain accurate records of medication dispensed, including controlled substances.
   • Ensure proper documentation and confidentiality of patient information.

5. Pharmacy Operations:

   • Assist with pharmacy administrative tasks, including data entry and record keeping.
   • Support the pharmacist in preparing medications and performing routine pharmacy duties.
   • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the pharmacy counter and workstations.

6. Communication and Teamwork:

   • Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, other pharmacy staff, and healthcare providers.
   • Communicate clearly with customers, providing education on medication use and side effects.
   • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry practices.

Job Duties:

• Assist the pharmacist with serving patients and maintaining the pharmacy department
• Greet customers and answer questions.
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity.
• Process prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
• Resolve issues when they arise (e.g., rejected insurance claims).
• Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
• Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory.

Required:

• Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Ohio
• Retail or similar pharmacy experience preferred
