A Long Term Care Pharmacist opportunity is available on a contract-to-hire basis, offering 40 hours per week with a schedule designed to provide essential pharmaceutical services to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care providers. The role operates within a well-established pharmacy setting utilizing QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems to manage prescription processes efficiently.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
  • Review and check blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations.
  • Respond to clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians.
  • Perform control substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records.
  • Monitor and check emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care (LTC) experience preferred.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, use fine motor skills, and perform visual acuity tasks; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds.
