We are partnering with a respected healthcare provider in Long Island, NY to find an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for a direct hire opportunity. This is a fantastic chance for a professional with a strong background in Long-Term Care (LTC) management to step into a leadership role. With the current PIC moving into a corporate leadership position, this opening provides the ideal opportunity for someone to lead a dedicated team and oversee pharmacy operations in a high-volume, dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a pharmacy team, including 10 full-time pharmacists, 5 per diem pharmacists, and 60 technicians.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations, including the preparation of sterile (IVs/TPNs) and non-sterile medications.
  • Oversee daily operations, including medication dispensing, inventory control, and compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure pharmacy workflow is streamlined and adheres to established protocols, maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Manage and oversee the use of Frameworks/DocuTrack systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring excellent customer service and patient care.
  • Handle any escalated issues or concerns with a focus on resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain full compliance with BOP regulations, ensuring no challenges or violations.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours as needed, being responsible for operations and onsite presence when required.

    Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Manager/PIC role in a Long-Term Care (LTC) setting (required).
  • Experience in managing pharmacy teams and operations in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Frameworks/DocuTrack systems or similar pharmacy management software.
  • Experience handling sterile (IVs/TPNs) and non-sterile medications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment with an adaptable schedule.

    Pharmacy Details:

  • Staff Size: 10 full-time pharmacists, 5 per diem pharmacists, and 60 technicians.
  • Average Prescription Volume: 30,000 prescriptions per week, with Mondays and Tuesdays being the busiest.
  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:00 AM; Saturday/Sunday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Open 365 days a year.
  • No BOP challenges and an established workflow.
