An established post-ICU recovery hospital in Natrona Heights, PA is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy (DOP) to lead its pharmacy operations. The role is full-time and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital focuses on providing world-class inpatient care for chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery, emphasizing a culture that values patient-centered care, innovation, and teamwork.

As the Director of Pharmacy, you will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with clinical teams to ensure excellence in pharmacy services. You will oversee the clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management of the hospital pharmacy. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining regulatory compliance, driving quality improvement, and fostering staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely in compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission and CMS.
  • Manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and ensure patient drug therapy monitoring.
  • Develop and implement employee training and education programs.
  • Participate in quality assurance related to drug utilization and effectiveness.
  • Create at least one clinically oriented program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Service or Pain Management Services.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement and provide counseling to patients and families.
  • Qualifications:

  • Fulfillment of all educational requirements for state pharmacy licensure.
  • Minimum of three years of hospital pharmacy experience in the past five years.
  • Current state pharmacy license and BLS certification if required. Preferred:
  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy with an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency.
  • At least one year in a managerial role.
  • Board Certification or completion of residency preferred.
