RPh on the Go is actively seeking an Interim Director of Pharmacy for a full-time contract position in California. This is a leadership opportunity at a well-supported hospital pharmacy. The Director of Pharmacy will not be required to take on PIC responsibilities or perform staffing duties but will oversee day-to-day operations, compliance, and departmental performance.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

No on-call required

Position Details:

The pharmacy is open daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm, with after-hours coverage provided via Pipeline remote order entry. The department is staffed with 5–6 pharmacists and 6–7 technicians, with PRN support available as needed. Automation is managed through Pyxis, and the order entry system is Paragon/Allscripts.

There is no chemotherapy compounding, and the Director will not be required to compound medications.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day operations of the inpatient pharmacy department

Maintain and implement policies and procedures, including crosswalks

Ensure full compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Oversee and contribute to Bluesight, MERP, ASP, P&T, and Pharmacy Chargemaster activities

Collaborate with a dedicated 340B team to ensure program integrity

Requirements:

Active and clear California Pharmacist license

Prior Director of Pharmacy experience (required)

Solid background in regulatory compliance, hospital operations, and 340B

Experience with Paragon/Allscripts and Pyxis preferred
